A Letter to Iris + February 14th :: 2005-02-22
A Letter to Iris
R.-F. C.
Walking in the city
A concrete scenery
I can't help but remember
Things could have been easier
And this same sky Iris
Blurred as our first kiss
As cars go by
I'm still dazzled
Slowly I draw the images
Of a carefully crafted plan :
To meet the ghost of you
Down this street, we'd be two
Made lighter by this winter
To take another trip
Down in your eyes
Let the chemicals ride
Just one more time
We'd live this one
Silenced and calm
Don't say a word
They only make things worse
February 14th
R.-F. C.
On February 14th
I finally step back
And I clearly see
All that's behind us
On this famed day
I do realize
That all my hopes
Were all in vain
All you left
Is miles of pain
Still, Iris
The thought of you tonight
Just rips me apart
I think I could cry
On February 14th
I'm cleaning the ashes
Of a burning heart
Consumed by your love
Lifeless
As proof of wisdom
I lie on this bed
With this knife in my hand
And still Iris
The thought of you tonight
Just rips me apart
But I could never cry
I'll live this one
Silenced and calm
I won't say a word
Just to make things worse
